The Pathways to Resilience training immediately sparked a flame, which is something I’ve been missing since leaving teaching three years ago to have our son. I have always been interested in people and education, completing a Psychology with Sport Education degree. Following this I completed a GTP to become a qualified primary school teacher. Working as a classroom teacher for 8 years and then a PE teacher for 2 years the positive well being of every child has always been at the heart of my teaching.
Reading the ethos of the resilience training I believe that it offers life changing positive skills to young children and potentially many other individuals. I feel that my background in psychology and education would be complimentary to becoming a Pathways to Resilience facilitator in Gloucestershire. As a full time Mum myself, I could also see these techniques being delivered to other first time parents, or parents juggling busy modern lives! I’m excited about the opportunities and new avenues that the training might bring to myself, my own family and delivering such a positive scheme in Gloucestershire.

I qualified as a PE teacher 13 years ago and have enjoyed many years teaching PE in secondary and middle schools. More recently, I made the move to work within our SEN team as an LSA. I've loved getting to know our SEN students and helping students with their learning in class and 1:1.
I've also been lucky to work leading and supporting our Outdoor Learning groups and our active 'Learn to Move' sessions.
I'm really excited to begin the Pathways to Resilience course and start to implement the training in my small intervention groups at school. I also intend to run workshops with other members of staff, to give them the tools to share the benefits within their own classrooms. My line managers and senior team have been very supportive and encouraging of me embarking on this learning journey.

I'm very excited about becoming a Pathways to Resilience facilitator as I am passionate about supporting young people with their wellbeing and in developing skills to navigate life and build their resilience. My background is in mental health Occupational Therapy mostly with older people, but I have also been involved in youth work for many years. I volunteer at the Kings Arms youth project in Hampshire. I have supported teenagers with anxiety, low self esteem and confidence and many with neurodiversity.
I observed the Pathways to Resilience programme at the Kings Arms and really enjoyed joining in with the activities and seeing the young people participate. I am very excited to be more involved and to roll the programme out to children in my community in the future. I believe enabling young people to understand their emotions and how to manage them will be an excellent life skill. I'm also looking forward to supporting parent and teacher workshops.
From a personal point of view I can't wait to get some more practice with breath work and understanding my own emotions better.

As an experienced educator, with a decade-long commitment to nurturing young minds, I have always been interested in supporting young people with special educational needs - I currently work in a Pupil Referral Unit where I teach art up to GCSE level. During my time in education, I have seen firsthand how stress/trauma can affect an individual and, having grown up an anxious person myself, I am keen to show our future generations how to cope with our modern world which is fast paced and applies pressure in many ways.
I have recently been lucky enough to experience breathwork with Helen Spencer and have had firsthand experience of how it can strengthen oneself to think clearly and understand how we work. By doing the Pathways to Resilience training I hope to be able to support the young people I work with as well as promoting this idea in the area I live in. I aim to contribute to a more inclusive and supportive educational ecosystem by empowering individuals to recognise and manage their emotional well-being.
