The Programme

The Pathways to Resilience programme focuses on emotional wellbeing by offering valuable tools for life.   The programme, along with Parent workshops and staff INSET days, has been running successfully since 2021.

Elements of the Child & Adolescent programme

Pathways to Resilience is a 10 week programme, for 8 to 16 year olds, aimed at improving the key skills young people need to be resilient in life. The programme starts by introducing what it means to be resilient and recognising and normalising the different emotions that we all experience. It then moves on to exploring a range of tools for resilience, such as empathy, gratitude and asking for help. Sessions focus on teaching how the brain and body work (psychoeducation and physiology) through discussion, games, creativity, breathwork and mindfulness.

"I do belly breathing to feel calm at night." Year 5 pupil

"I do tapping under the desk if I get told off for something I didn't do." Year 6 pupil

Parent Workshops

Our programme quickly evolved to include Parent workshops as it was apparent that Parents and Carers could also gain from understanding the benefits of Resilience, self-care and self-compassion, not just for their children, but also for themselves.  Alongside exploring the role of the Nervous System and the mind-body connection, we share various strategies that can be used within the home, creating the opportunity for a more calm and harmonious connection.  The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and the workshops deeply appreciated.

"I believe this is possibly the most important thing children / teens / adults might learn for their life." Year 7 Parent

Staff INSET day Workshop

We now offer half and full staff INSET day workshops for the adults who educate and look after our children.  Both Helen and Samanta have spent many years working within the school environment and understand the challenges faced when a child becomes dysregulated.  The workshop explores the Nervous System, the mind-body connection, self-regulation and how to bring these into balance through creativity, movement and Breathwork.  These workshops are engaging, uplifting and often enlightening.  The tools and strategies learnt can be used both at home and within the professional role.

"I really liked the focus on the importance of positivity and gratitude, as well as enjoying the breathing and understanding how the body 'feeds' the brain. " Primary School Teacher

Workshops for staff, volunteers & families of Home-Start Butser and The Kings Arms Young Person's Charity

We are humbled to be supporting the well established and highly regarded national community network Home-Start as well as a local young people's charity The Kings Arms. Our programmes and workshops are tailored to meet the needs of children, families and staff of each organisation.

Delivery

The Pathways to Resilience Child & Adolescent programme can run either during or after the school day, with sessions ranging from 30 minutes to an hour.  Staff and Parent Workshops are from 90 minutes to a full day.  We are passionate about bringing this work to as many young people and families as possible and welcome the opportunity to discuss how the programme would work in your setting.

Why this Workshop
This workshop was created as an extension of our Children's Pathways to Resilience programme.
There has been a noticeable rise in stress and anxiety observed in children since returning to full-
time school post lockdowns. We have taken this opportunity, combining our many years of wisdom,
knowledge and experience of working with children, to bring accessible practises to the carers.

Holistic Approach
Samanta & Helen bring a holistic and relaxed approach, empowering your adult/child relationships
with Intention, Authenticity and Joy. Our workshops have been received with deep appreciation in
the community and we are excited to extend this nourishing experience to you.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Pathways to Resilience workshop and embarking on this
journey together.
